Mashreq Bank has named Faisal Mohammed AlShimmari as its new Head of ESG and Corporate Strategy. In this capacity, AlShimmari is tasked with leading the bank’s initiatives in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) sectors, ensuring the alignment of business objectives with sustainable growth and adhering to key ESG benchmarks.
AlShimmari is no stranger to leadership roles. With almost three decades of experience, he has served in prominent positions within the government, notably in the Ministry of Interior where he was instrumental in driving digital transformation and AI initiatives. His tenure there also saw him manage governance and risk and take on the responsibilities of the Chief Information Security Officer. AlShimmari’s previous experience with Abu Dhabi Police and his recent role as Senior Vice President – Head of Risk Strategy and Governance at Mashreq further solidifies his credentials for this new role.
